Our Mission
Mountain Mindful is a social enterprise headquartered in southern West Virginia. We create jobs and training opportunities for all kinds of Appalachians. Guided by our commitment to people, places, and prosperity, we strive to model a revitalized Appalachian economy.
We contribute to this vision by training and hiring local individuals who face barriers to employment - such as Substance Use Disorder, justice involvement, or limited access to transportation and childcare. Through meaningful work, we equip them with valuable skills to craft durable, quality products made primarily from organic, reclaimed, and recycled materials.
Every $25 you spend creates one hour of paid-training for a person facing barriers to employment in our community.
Our unique creations empower you to live a more resilient life with integrity. They have the grit and strength of a mountain but also the grace and quality of an artist. Unlike what you can buy in a big-box store, our creations are made to be handed down generation to generation. We take the long-view!
