Our Mission
Mountain Mindful is a social enterprise headquartered in southern West Virginia. We hire people who face barriers to employment (such as Substance Use Disorder or former Coal-Economy workers) to create socially and environmentally sustainable products. Both beautiful and resilient, our creations help you define the kind of authentic, mindful life you seek to live amidst the chaos of this world.
In staying true to our environmental values, we are trying to model what a post-coal reality can look like for our region. Mountain Mindful contributes to this big picture vision by hiring local people who make you durable and sustainable products primarily made from organic, reclaimed and recycled material.
Every $25 you spend creates one hour of paid-training for a person facing barriers to employment in our community.
Our unique creations empower you to live a more resilient life with integrity. They have the grit and strength of a mountain but also the grace and quality of an artist. Unlike what you can buy in a big-box store, our creations are made to be handed down generation to generation. We take the long-view!
